Back on Track with the Easy Wellness Club | ADDA

I am an adult who diagnosed with ADHD late in life. I was almost fifty when I realized I was more depressed and frustrated than happy. My ADHD was preventing me from getting the job done, at home and at work. All my life, I knew something was wrong but I could not figure out what it was. My ADHD diagnosis came as a relief! Finally, I started to find answers to all my questions.

My children are grown and I’m retired from a forty-year teaching career. It’s time to take care of myself, so I decided to join ADDA to network with and learn from other adults like me. As an adult with ADHD, I know eating well, getting plenty of sleep and exercising help me focus better. But I sometimes do not know where to or how to start doing the things necessary for me to achieve my goals.

The Easy Wellness Club’s goal is to build healthy exercise, nutrition and sleep habits. It’s gives me the opportunity to once again share ideas and get support from others with a common goal.

Our club has been meeting since March and already some of our members have made great progress. Using their suggestions, I achieved a goal I’ve been working on for years with no success! With the support of fellow members, I’ve given up drinking any kind of regular or diet soda! I already feel better because I have given up something that was not contributing to my health!

Do you have a healthy habit you are trying to achieve for yourself? Have you been trying to achieve your goal but have not been able to stay on track? Do you wish you had someone to share ideas with? If you have answered yes to any of these questions then I have the group for you!

I’ve led and attended many support groups and International Conferences on ADHD. I have also done extensive research on how sleep habits can help or hurt a person with ADHD. Now I help lead the Easy Wellness Club. Our team also includes ADHD Coach, Diane McLean, and Holistic Health Coach, Kenny Niece.

We start each meeting by taking turns telling the others “What is new and good!” We follow that with a topic presented by one of our leaders. Everyone has a chance to ask questions of the presenter and to join in the discussion. Each member sets a goal or goals he or she wants to work on. We give everyone a chance to be accountable to their goal in a fun, supportive way.

As a group we have found we all have many common goals and interests. Our members phone in from everywhere, so we always have interesting conversations!

Great progress is made one step at time and we lead the way with warmth and humor. We’d love to have you join us Monday evenings from 8:00 to 9:00 EST. It’s free for ADDA members, and we always welcome new members to our Wellness Club. We’d love to have you join us.
