Finding lost items. : ADHD

My pro tip is to always use a flash light when looking for things you’ve lost. Even in the day time, or a well lit room.

The spot light from the flash light helps focus your eyes to a small area that you can actually then focus your mind on. This forces you to do a grid search. Once you’ve passed over that area you can be confident the item isn’t there – so you don’t have to check that spot 20 times.

Smaller search area, fewer distractions, focused sight and mind, methodical pattern, less frantic wasteful chaotic rifling.

I can look in a spot dozens of times and not see my keys. I grab a light, and find them the first pass over that spot.
