Ok this is a little ridicolous but hear me out. I noticed I use way more commas than what is considered normal in writing. And now I’m starting to think it’s an ADHD-thing.
Why is this? I think there are two reasons: One, it’s sort of the way many of us think and speak. A series of related thoughts or ideas, which somehow are all linked together.
Secondly, long sentences are hard to read because you need to keep the meaning of the entire sentence in the working memory, which is hard. Commas space them apart, and make them easier to handle and “hold” in the working memory of the brain.
What do you think?
