Took one year off Adderall.. Gained a ton of weight, but no longer losing weight after getting back on my medication? : ADHD

I was diagnosed with ADHD back in 2015, when I turned 25 (Adderall XR, 30mg per day). My first 5 months I went from 205 pounds to 170 and kept at that weight for a good 3 years. I wasn’t doing any physical activity back then either.

I was off my medication from June 2018 to May 2019 (almost a year) due to issues with health insurance. In that time span, I went from 175 to 220lbs. Huuuge jump.

My doctor even hoped for me to lose weight being back on my medication since I’m overweight (34% body fat) and needed my mental focus back, so he prescribed me 30mg XR in the morning, 10mg IR in the afternoon.

I just turned 30, and I’ve been back on my medication for about a whole year now while working a job that has me on my feet all day, and only dropped 10lbs. In the past 2 months I’ve started dieting to help with this issue (consuming 1,700 calories a day) and doing moderate exercise (cardio for 30 minutes a day), yet I’ve only dropped an additional 2lbs. Currently at 208lbs.

Does this have to do with my current age, now that I’m older?

Note: I’m not taking adderall SPECIFICALLY to lose weight, I’m just noticing it’s not affecting my weight like it has before, even with diet and exercise.
